This fun little animation was made by Antonio Silva for the Greyscale Gorilla’s 5 Second Project.
Antonio says: “My animation is a 5 second story about a little vampire that comes to life in paper and gets bashed with a poetic wooden stake – a pencil.”
The piece went on to win first prize, I haven’t seen any of the other entries but I really like this effort.

The Meth project is a series of commercials directed by none other than Darren Aronofsky for ad agency Organic SF.
These commercials are VERY hard hitting and almost uncomfortable to watch but they serve their purpose very very well. The work is immediately reminiscent of Aronofsky’s Requiem for a Dream and again he, very honestly and realistically, places you within inches of the characters psyche.
Check out the rest of the series below:
I can’t say they are enjoyable to watch but this is the kind of shockvertising will hopefully end up being quite effective.

A single-take, short film collaboration between Gatorade and The Berrics promoting Gatorade’s ‘Go All Day’ campaign. Starring professional skateboarder and Gatorade athlete Chaz Ortiz.
Anyone who has seen Gus Van Sant’s ‘Elephant’ will instantly be reminded of it throughout this video. The excellent steadicam work married to the ordinary but complex dance of a high school students movement pattern is unmistakable.
This piece is just done so damn well. I love the cheeky bits at the end where Chaz starts skating through the school and you have to commend the command of his craft. One mistake and the take is ruined. I really think that the video is made by his skate, it validates the video. Big ups to chaz for riding that pressure!

This video is a bit difficult to explain and I can’t exactly tell you what it is that I love about this video but I just simply do. I think it may have something to do with the way it is built up. The music carries a certain air of intrigue and the pace of the editing is timed just right for me to want to watch more.
I can’t say it ends in any kind of spectacular way but its a well produced little video. I like.

Produced by Oleg Saxonov, Alexander Kendysh and Krill Belorussov
